Photographer and explorer Filip Kulisev, Master QEP, FBIPP, strives constantly to find and photograph the most wonderful and unique sites on our planet for the benefit of nature lovers throughout the world. Through his remarkable photographs, Filip has spurred awareness of biodiversity and natural resource. He is an internationally respected photographer. In 2001, he founded „Amazing Planet“ specialising in exclusive photographs, calendars, books and DVDs. Filip has had more than 200 solo exhibitions around the world, including Vienna, Sydney, Auckland, Atlanta, Washington, Cleveland, Sarasota, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Monaco, Rome, Moscow, Malta, Paris, Ottawa, Honolulu, Helsinki, the European Parliament in Brussels, the United Nations in both New York City and Geneva, on EXPO 2020 in Dubai and at the North Pole.
His work and publications are part of the collections of eminent personalities around the world, including Pope Francis, His Royal Highness Prince Charles, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, UN secretary general António Guterres, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Slovak President Andrej Kiska, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni, President of French Polynesia Edouard Fritch, President of Kiribati Anote Tong, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Many artists and Academy Award (Oscar) winners, including composer Hans Zimmer, director Luc Jacquet, actors Will Smith, Pierce Brosnan and Robert Redford also collect Filip’s works.
Filip‘s international recognition is a result of his extraordinary ability to capture spectacular landscapes in a technically-impeccable form. His photographs are composed with a sense of balance and the interplay of shadow and light. His acute sense of detail was rewarded by various international prizes, including the “Master QEP“for his nature photography work, an honor presented to only two photographers in the world. The title Master QEP (Qualified European Professional Photographer) is the highest qualification award in Europe, reserved for professional photographers who have shown impressive skills in their work. According to the international QEP jury, Filip reached an “exceptionally high standard, demonstrating exceptional technical and artistic excellence within the image making profession.”
In January 2012, Filip became the first photographer from Central and Eastern Europe to be awarded the highest qualification and title of Fellow (FBIPP) from the British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP) in London. This esteemed qualification shows that he has exhibited distinguished and exceptional ability and creativity in his craft. Filip is the youngest Fellow and only the third landscape photographer in the world to be so honoured.
Filip is the author of eleven exclusive monographs. The first published in 2006. His second monograph, 100 Wonders, released in 2009, garnered great attention in the photographic world. He presented 100 of the most beautiful places on our planet, and showed that, despite expanding human activity, there are still virgin sites on our planet worth protecting for future generations. One of his many distinguished supporters, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, said: “Through the beauty and purity of his images, Filip Kulisev gives substance to those treasures we all too often ignore and that may disappear tomorrow as a result of our reprehensible inaction. I am certain it makes a significant contribution to alert all people of goodwill to the state of our Earth. I know its lights will give others the permission to shine.”
His third book, Amazing Planet, was released in 15 different languages in 2010. His book ZOOM, based on the stories behind his photographs and travel experiences, was released in 2012. After the impressive success of Amazing Planet, Filip published Terre Magique (Amazing Planet) in 2013 -- an updated version of Amazing Planet for the French market. The book is now available under the title, La Grande Livre des Terres Fascinantes. After the success of ZOOM, a sequel, ZOOM 2, was released in 2014. Coffee table book Element, featuring unique and never-before-seen photographs, with a foreword by Slovak President Andrej Kiska, was published in late 2016. Amazing Slovakia, published in autumn 2017 is his ninth book, in which for the first time he exclusively focuses on his native country and the number of remarkable places it has to offer. Polar Planet was published in autumn 2019. The tenth photo monograph from Filip Kulisev of the polar region’s most inhospitable places comes with the belief that future generations should never look at it as a lost world they will never see. Filip Kulisev, Master QEP, FBIPP is also the Founder of the Association of Professional Photographers of Slovak Republic (APFSR).
He was awarded a prize as European Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2012. He became European Professional Photographer of the year 2020 in the Drone category (FEP European Drone Golden Camera Award).
